Jason Hou, a PhD student in the Conformable Decoders research group, has been selected as a fellow for the MIT Neurobiological Engineering Training Program (NBETP)—an NIH T32 grant that aims to equip high-quality students with outstanding expertise and leadership ability at the intersection of basic neuroscience and engineering. Several early stage graduate students with risky and ambitious neurotechnology projects are supported with this fellowship annually.

Jason’s research interests lie in the design of chronically implantable wireless hardware systems, which seamlessly monitor and modulate biomarkers of human health and disease. The funding provided by NBETP will support his continued development of device systems that interact with neural cells using ultrasonic waves.
